AMA National Hangtown Buona la prima per Roczen e Cianciarulo

Sacramento California. Esordio quesi perfetto per Ken Roczen che è tornato alla vittoria dopo un lunghissimo periodo (2016). Alla netta affermazione della prima manche, corsa in condizioni ideali, ha fatto ottenuto un secondo conquistato alle spalle di Eli Tomac durante la seconda frazione svoltasi sotto una pioggia incessante. L’ufficiale Kawasaki è salito sul secondo gradino del podio assoluto nonostante una prima manche decisamente sottotono durante la quale non è riusciuto a trovare il ritmo. Terza posto assoluto per Jason Anderson al rientro dopo il lunghissimo stop causato dal grave infortunio di inizio anno. Il nuovo campione Supercross ha forse deluso le enormi aspettative; Cooper Webb ha infatti conquistato la quinta posizione assoluta chiudendo molto lontano dai vincitori delle rispettive manches. Zach Osborne ha completato la top five con il quarto posto.
Eli Tomac: “The first moto was disappointing, I made a good charge up to the halfway point there then kind of got shuffled back. I made a few changes, but obviously the track conditions were different in the second moto. It took a little while to get going, but overall it was a fun ride in that second moto.”
Ken Roczen: “It’s been a very, very long time since I won a race. Overall the whole day was good, It’s difficult at the first race to know what to expect and to know where everyone else is. I just did my best every time I was on the track and it got us a win. It was really sloppy out there and it can easily go in either direction , so it feels good that we ended up on the positive side of it.”
Jason Anderson: “The first moto was pretty good. I was up front but I was just getting my race legs under me. I was able to make a charge at the end, which was really good. The second moto, man, I was so sketchy out there and almost crashing. But all in all it was a good day, and I’m just pumped to be back at the races.”
