Southwick, Massachusetts. Sulla pesantissima sabbia di The Wick 338, ancora Dylan Ferrandis in evidenza. Il francese, dopo aver dominato la prima frazione fin dallo start, è stato costretto a limitare la sua azione nella seconda manche, terminando terzo. A causa delle condizioni meteo estreme e dell’impegnativo fondo, dopo il ritiro di Plessinger per guasto tecnico, il suo team ha continuamente segnalato a Dylan di alleggerire la sua azione per evitare qualsiasi problema alla moto.
Ken Roczen (secondo assoluto) ha comandato a lungo gara due prima di arrendersi al possente ritorno di Eli Tomac che ha tagliato il traguardo della frazione finale, con oltre sedici secondi di vantaggio sul tedesco. Terzo posto assoluto per Barcia che ha cosi conquistato il primo podio stagionale.
La Tabella Rossa saldamente nelle mani di Dylan Ferrandis (224 pt) che guida la classifica con un margine di diciannove punti su Ken Roczen (205 pt). Terzo posto per il vincitore di gara due Eli Tomac che accusa un ritardo di cinquantasette punti sul leader.
Dylan Ferrandis: “It’s amazing to win another overall. The team showed me on the pit board to save my bike in moto 2. Eli Tomac was riding really well in that last moto and it made me just want to go faster and faster, but I had to be smart for the bike. I wanted to beat Ken Roczen so badly, but the team asked for me to save the bike. It was a great day overall, getting another win and picking up some more points on the day. As a rider I always want to win so I’m a little bit frustrated to not be able to push as hard as I would have liked at the end.”

Prima vittoria stagionale per l’ufficiale Honda Hunter Lawrence imponendosi nettamente in entrambe le frazioni. Hanno completato il podio Jo Shimoda e Justin Cooper. Il leader di classifica Jett Lawrence. non è mai entrato in sintonia con il tracciato lasciando sul campo diverse lunghezze al suo più pericoloso avversario nella lotta per il titolo.
Tabella Rossa nelle mani di Jett Lawrence (204 pt) seguito a breve distanza da Justin Cooper (201 pt) e di Hunter Lawrence (178 pt).
Hunter Lawrence: “Ah, man, this feels so good. Huge shoutout to my entire team around me. None of this would be possible without them. This 1-1 feels so good and is such a great way to stamp the weekend here at Southwick. It’s a bit of an emotional win for me with everything that I’ve been through these past few years. I just want to keep building and take this momentum into the rest of the season.”
Jett Lawrence: “My starts really hurt me a lot, but I showed I have the speed to come through. Not the greatest weekend. I lost a lot of points, especially in that first moto, but we still have the red plate and I’m not backing down. I’m going to push forward and be there every race and make sure that I back that up. Whoever wants to have a go, come at me!”
