AMA National RedBud Tomac in cattedra

Buchanan, Michigan. Quinto appuntamento per il Lucas Oil Motocross Championship nello stato del Michigan. Giornata perfetta per il campione Sx Eli Tomac che fin dalle cronometrate è apparso velocissimo. Il fuoriclasse Yamaha ha conquistato entrambe le finali costringendo la Tabella Rossa Chase Sexton al secondo gradino del podio. Nella quarto di litro, il campione in carica e capoclassifica Jett Lawrence è stato fortemente penalizzato da un guasto tecnico avvenuto in gara uno. Assoluta ad un incredulo Jo Shimoda e Tabella Rossa passata nelle mani di Hunter Lawrence.

Un ruolino di marcia impressionante per Eli Tomac che a RedBud ha conquistato facilmente entrambe le finali. Praticamente inarrestabile fin dallo start, ha dettato i tempi della gara ogni volta che è sceso il cancello. Con l’affermazione odierna ha ridotto il distacco in classifica generale da Chase Sexton a soli sette pumti. L’ufficiale Honda è apparso l’unico pilota in pista in grado di arginare lo stato di grazia di Tomac ma, nonostante gli ottimi riscontri cronometrici (suo il giro veloce in gara 2), ha commesso qualche piccola sbavatura e soprattutto non è mai partito davanti all’avversario. Terzo gradino del podio per Justin Barcia, autore dell’holeshot nella frazione finale. Ancora una prestazione incomprensibile per Ken Roczen, soprattutto nella heat di chiusura che ha comandato per qualche giro segnando ottimi tempi. Il tedesco, appena subito il passaggio di Tomac, ha immediatamente cambiato passo scivolando inesorabilmente fino al settimo posto.

Tabella Rossa ancora nelle mani di Chase Sexton che guida il ranking generale con 224 punti. Secondo e terzo posto per Eli Tomac (217 pt) e Ken Roczen (194 pt).

Jo Shimoda ha conquistato con merito la prima assoluta in carriera ma, come consuetudine, il più forte in pista è stato Jett Lawrence che ha mancato il bersaglio grosso solo per un problema meccanico che lo ha lasciato ai lati della pista pochi istanti dopo aver rilevato la leadership dal fratello Hunter. In gara due Jett ha ristabilito le gerarchie vincendo con distacco ancora una volta sul fratello e terzo posto per il coriaceo Shimoda, autore di una pregevole rimonta innescata da una caduta avvenuta nelle fasi iniziali.

Podio finale composto da Jo Shimoda, Hunter Lawrence e Stilez Robertson. La Tabella Rossa è passata nelle mani di Hunter Lawrence che guida il ranking generale con 218 punti. Secondo e terzo posto per Jett Lawrence (211 pt) e Jo Shimoda (182 pt)
