AMA National Unadilla Roczen irresistibile
Unadilla, (New Berlin). Ottavo appuntamento con il campionato Outdoor statunitense. Secondo strike per Ken Roczen che ha confermato il suo feeling con il tracciato di Unadilla che, anche in questa occasione, si è confermata come la pista più “brutale” del campionato outdoor americano. In gara uno l’ufficiale HRC ha comandato il gruppo fin dai primi passaggi inseguito e tenuto sotto pressione da Aaron Plessinger che è parso forse il più veloce in alcune sezioni. A circa metà gara il pilota Yamaha si è reso protagonista di un violenta caduta che ha distrutto la sua moto e lo ha costretto al forfait anche nella frazione finale. Dylan Ferrandis ha cosi conquistato il secondo posto che ha mantenuto fino al traguardo di gara uno che ha tagliato con un ritardo di sei secondi su Roczen. Terzo posto per Eli Tomac. Heat finale decisamente più movimentata a causa di una partenza leggermente non a fuoco per Ken Roczen. Holeshot per Chase Sexton che ha subito allungato in testa al gruppo; Roczen ha effettuato una serie di veloci sorpassi per portarsi al termine dei primi giri alle spalle del compagno di squadra. La coppia Honda si è staccata dal resto del gruppo ed ha proceduto in simbiosi fino a quando Ken ha cambiato passo sorpassando il teammate.
Posizioni invariate fino al traguardo che ha cosi consegnato a Roczen la ventesima vittoria in carriera (outdoor) ed ha rilanciato le sue quotazioni nella corsa al titolo. Secondo e terzo posto per Chase Sexton e Dylan Ferrandis. Podio assoluto per Ken Roczen seguito da Ferrandis e Musquin, alla sua prima affermazione nella top 3 stagionale.
La Tabella Rossa resta saldamente nelle mani di Dylan Ferrandis (345 pt) che veleggia deciso verso il Titolo con un margine di quasi 40 punti su Ken Roczen (306 pt). Terzo posto per Eli Tomac (283 pt) inseguito a breve distanza da Chase Sexton.
Ken Roczen: “This was unreal. I just felt like I got into the zone today. The track was brutal, and it was easy to make a mistake, but I was able to find great lines and ride really consistent. The crowd was awesome today. They were so passionate and really kept me going. I just want to thank everyone for their support and my team for all the hard work.”
Dylan Ferrandis: “I came here to win, but Ken was way too strong today. It’s fine. Second overall is still good. I lost some points in the championship, but there’s four rounds to go. We’ll see. I think we got the maximum today out of myself and the bike. Ken was just better. We’ll come back and try to be on the top step of the podium.”

Jett Lawrence è tornato alla vittoria dopo un periodo in cui ha subito l’azione dei piloti Yamaha. Il velocissimo pilota australiano ha conquistato l’assoluta con l’affermazione in gara due che gli ha consentito di salire sul gradino più alto del podio e recuperare alcuni punti nella classifics generale nei confronti di Justin Cooper (secondo assoluto). L’ufficiale Yamaha, dopo l’affermazione della prima frazione, ha chiuso al quarto posto nella heat finale a causa di una partenza difficile. Terzo gradino del podio per il mattatore delle ultime prove Jeremy Martin.
Tabella Rossa nelle mani di Justin Cooper (324 pt) seguito a brevissima distanza da Jett Lawrence (320 pt) e di Hunter Lawrence (263 pt).
Jett Lawrence: “I finally got my starts sorted and that helps a lot. The boys were hooking, but I got some lines, and they were working. I just felt really good there. It felt like home. I got into a groove and felt so fast. It’s just awesome. My mentality isn’t going to change. I’m going to come into these last four rounds trying to do everything I can, because Justin Cooper is riding well.”
Justin Cooper: “I just felt really good in the first moto, but I think we needed to make a bike change for the second moto. The track was a lot rougher than I expected. I just lost my rhythm out there. It was still a positive day. We’ll come out swinging for the final four rounds and try to wrap up this championship”
