AMA National Ironman Ferrandis ad un passo dal titolo
Crawfordsville, Indiana. Decimo appuntamento del campionato Outdoor statunitense. Forse la gara più dura della stagione a causa dei picchi di umidità e temperatura registrati durante lo svolgimento della manifestazione. Eli Tomac e Dylan Ferrandis hanno concluso a pari punti la gara corsa nello stato dell’Indiana. La vittoria è stata assegnata all’ufficiale Kawasaki, che ha registrato il miglior riscontro cronometrico della giornata nella frazione finale, per la discriminante della vittoria in gara due. La contesa per la vittoria in entrambe le manches ha visto protagonisti solo Tomac e Ferrandis che si sono sfidati ad ogni passaggio. Ken Roczen è parso molto più reattivo nella prima heat quando ha cercato di restare a stretto contatto con la coppia di testa finendo al terzo posto. In gara due, come ha dichiarato nella conferenza stampa, ha accusato le condizioni climatiche estreme che non gli hanno permesso di lottare per la vittoria. Primo podio stagionale per Cooper Webb che ha cosi interrotto la sua lunga assenza dalle posizioni di vertice.
Primo gradino del podio assoluto per Eli Tomac seguito in ordine da Dylan Ferrandis e Cooper Webb. Hanno completato la top five in compagni di squadra Ken Roczen e Chase Sexton
La Tabella Rossa resta saldamente nelle mani di Dylan Ferrandis (439 pt) che veleggia deciso verso il Titolo con un margine di 50 punti su Ken Roczen (389 pt). Terzo posto per Eli Tomac (368 pt) inseguito da Chase Sexton.
Dylan Ferrandis: “My success has been from hard work that I’ve put in for years. It’s finally paying off,. I do everything for my sport and to be on top. Today was just one of those days where I suffered on the bike. I don’t know why. I just didn’t have the strength. Eli Tomac was riding awesome, so credit to him. We had another good day in the championship, so I’m happy with the result.”
Eli Tomac: “All I can say is it’s better late than never to get a win. I finally had the day I’ve been wanting to have. I kind of felt like there’s been two sides to me from one moto to the next all season. Today, I finally felt good in both. I got good starts, was able to make the pass (for the lead) happen in the second moto, and ride the race I wanted.”
Cooper Webb: “Today was overall a step in the right direction and an awesome day. Getting our first podium of the year feels great and means that all the hard work is paying off – better late than never. I’m super happy with today and looking forward to finishing these last two strong.”

Doppia netta affermazione per Jett Lawrence che ha cosi conquistato la Tabella Rossa ai danni di Justin Cooper. L’ufficiale Yamaha non è mai stato in grado di lottare per le prime posizioni accusando in ogni frazione ritardi considerevoli. Da segnalare l’infortunio (frattura del polso) del protagonista degli ultimi appuntamenti Jeremy Martin che esce ancora una volta di scena dopo una brevissima apparizione nel campionato, durata solo qualche settimana. Il podio della giornata ha visto salire sul gradino più alto Jett Lawrence seguito dall’ottimo Jo Shimoda e Justin Cooper.
La Tabella Rossa è tornata con merito nelle mani di Jett Lawrence (414 pt) seguito a breve distanza da Justin Cooper (403 pt) e terzo posto per il secondo ufficiale HRC Hunter Lawrence (319 pt).
Jett Lawrence: “It’s a great feeling to go 1-1. It shows I’m not giving up. I’ve been needing this for a while now. It feels good and I hope I can continue this through the rest of the season.”
Justin Cooper: “I just have to keep fighting,. It’s not going to be easy. Jett Lawrence was riding awesome today and I had nothing for him. I got the best I could out of myself and I have to be happy with that. I just need to keep digging. It’s not over til it’s over.”
Jo Shimoda: “The improvement on the bike was amazing, It was enjoyable to ride. …It was a good day for me. Improvements. I’ll do it again.”
